Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is the highest level of outpatient mental health treatment. This intensive day-treatment program features five full days of care and therapy each week with no overnight stays.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP for mental health in Wilmington features three, ~3 hour sessions each week. This part-time treatment acts as a stepdown from PHP or a step-up from weekly therapy.
Outpatient Treatment (OP)
Standard outpatient treatment for mental health offers once-a-week therapy and counseling. It serves as a final step after IOP, or an option for people who need only a little help.

Can I Force A Loved One Into Treatment?
Delaware’s Title 16 does allow for involuntary commitment. person be held for 72 hours if they are a danger themselves or others. This requires an inpatient program that provides acute care, like a psychiatric hospital.
The Brandywine Center is an outpatient program that accepts at-will patients only. We can not accommodate patients for involuntary commitment.
However, if you call we will be happy to provide an appropriate referral. We can also offer outpatient care after stabilization, if the patient is willing and clinically appropriate.
